BACH’S HOUSE
In 1934, NORA WEEKS, a tireless collaborator and assistant to Dr. Bach, found, in Brightwell-cum-Sotwell, a village in Oxfordshire, England, a small house called MOUNT VERNON, in whose gardens and surroundings there were trees and many native plants that were already used in Bach’s Floral System. “The vision” of someone who was fully integrated into the work she had been developing alongside Dr. Bach. With a sensitivity of those who are willing to give their best in achieving and sustaining an ideal.
At the entrance, there are steps that climb up to the garden, towards the door. An obligatory passage for those who want to enter the space that was, in life, their home and workplace and that continues to be, after death, the center of reference of their history and work.
At each step, arriving with expectation, the emotion of someone who is about to see and touch the objects that were part of Master’s daily life, to unravel imaginary mysteries and to feel the subtle vibrations permeated throughout the environment.
A place to pass from the outer to the inner world and from a known to an unknown world. At the threshold to a new reality. Opening a door and going through it symbolically leads to a higher level of knowledge and spiritual awareness. It is enough, then, to open it and make the crossing to the sacred stronghold of the Master…

SIMPLICITY – HUMILITY – COMPASSION
SIMPLICITY, HUMILITY, COMPASSION: the triad of virtues that guided the life and work of Master Bach and, until today, directs his successors.
SIMPLICITY: Main characteristic of a modest, uncomplicated, unpretentious, sincere, spontaneous person, of common habits, who is not bound by social conventions and who likes to live in a simple and natural way.
HUMILITY: Virtue characterized by the absence of vanity in relation to one’s values, by the awareness of one’s limitations, by moderation and prudence, and which is not carried away by luxury, gloss or the search for prominence and recognition.
COMPASSION: Quality of the Soul of those who are sensitive to the unhappiness and suffering of others, raising concern for the other and the altruistic desire to help them alleviate their pain.
Inside, furniture that made up his office, designed and built by him, as he had great skill as a carpenter. Everything evokes his presence: the small table with the guest registration book, the furniture and objects that were for his personal and professional use. The organization of the house, the photos, the books, the flower remedies, the paintings on the wall… and other commodes in the house.
What is a WINDOW, if not an opening that provides ventilation and lighting to the interior of the house and that facilitates the visibility of the exterior landscape?
Would it also be a portal between these two worlds? An opening that transcends, expanding eyes and heart? An opening to new insights and knowledge?

How many times would Dr. Bach have admired the flowers in the garden, on vibrant sunny mornings or in the stillness of cloudy, cold afternoons, in front of that window?
THE GARDEN IN THE RAIN
RAIN: Divine gift that comes from the sky and falls on the ground.
Blessed fluid that falls over the Bach Garden, erasing the dust, wetting the surface, soaking the plants. A little more than drizzle. A little rain that gradually moistens the air, penetrates the earth, chills the body and sensitizes the Soul. Drops of fertility that fertilizes the earth, triggering the generating principle of life and the renewal of nature. Without sunlight to invigorate the flowers and their colors, the posture is one of greater recollection, respect and veneration.
GARDEN: place usually outside the house, dedicated to the cultivation of ornamental plants.
At Bach’s house, plants have a diversity of shapes, colors and textures, in harmony with the space that surrounds the house and the characteristics of the place. In line with the philosophy of life and work developed by Dr. Bach and maintained until today by his successors.
A gift for the senses. Natural and pleasant view, with its own characteristics. Lots of green, many delicate, mysterious and silent species. A paradise. An invitation to introspection and delight. A particular way to preserve nature and to honor WHO walked there so many times, on rainy and sunny days.

BACH CENTRE’S GARDEN: living summary of the universe of plants and flowers belonging to the BACH FLORAL SYSTEM.
MONT VERNON: Dr. Edward Bach’s home and workplace in the last years of his life. Here he centralized his studies, programmed his research, carried out visits and consultations and prepared the flower remedies he administered to his patients.
BACH CENTRE: The center of Dr. Edward Bach’s world after his death. Guardian house of his history, his work and reverence to his memory. Center for studies, training, information and consultancy, individual assistance and guidance and approval of courses for the formation of Practitioners in more than 40 countries.
Translator: Julian Leonard Bourne, from England. He worked as un engineer for British Telecom, he is English teacher and translater from Portuguese to English and he is writer and painter as well. He use to live in Brazil for 27 yeras, he is married with un Brazilian woman and got two children. He is living now in Liverpool, United Kingdom.
